Small-Sided Playing Rules

Based on updated recommendations from the U.S. Soccer Federation, U.S. Youth Soccer and the New Mexico Youth Soccer Association, NWRGSL is continually revising its small-sided playing rules. The small-sided playing rules are liable to change between seasons, so coaches should always check here at the beginning of each season for the rules that are currently in effect.

Match Cancellation and Rescheduling Process

EFFECTIVE SPRING 2017

Match cancellations must be received by the league no later than 11:59 PM on the Monday before the scheduled match. Late cancellations will result in a $25 fine for the first offense and a $50 fine for each subsequent offense.

If you need to cancel a scheduled match (conflicting schedules, playing in a tournament, etc.), please follow this process at least 5 days in advance:

  1. Contact the League Office at 505-898-1411 or nwrgsl@mwrgsl.org to obtain contact information for the opposing team.
  2. Contact the opposing team to notify them of the cancellation and to schedule a make-up (if desired).
  3. Contact the League Referee Scheduler to ensure that a referee does not show up to the cancelled game and for help arranging a referee for a make-up game.

Teams are responsible for arranging their own referee for rescheduled games. If the League is not notified at least 5 days in advance, the coach(es) will be responsible for paying the referee for any rescheduled game.

Contacting the League Office and League Referee Scheduler is not necessary for cancellations due to inclement weather.
