All NWRGSL coaches are required to take the CDC’s Online Concussion Training Course. Once the course has been completed you will receive a Concussion Certificate that is valid for 5 years. This certificate must to be sent to your league/club registrar or to the NMYSA office at nmsoccer@nmysa.net. Coaches are further required to be familiar with and follow the NMYSA concussion protocol which is summarized on the Concussion Initiative page.
All coaches must also obtain the appropriate Youth Module Certificate or USSF License and ensure that their team has a USSF Certified Referee by the end of their first year of coaching. Youth Module Clinics are offered periodically throughout the year by the New Mexico Youth Soccer Association (NMYSA). For more information about coaching clinics, including schedules, contact your club administrator, or visit the coaching resource page at the the NMYSA website. Some clubs may reimburse approved coaching and referee certification fees.
